James Finnerty is a Toronto based audio-visual professional with credits in music production, post-production for television and film, theatrical production, and audio-visual systems design.

In the studio, James has worked as a recording and mix engineer, music producer and assistant. In addition to completing many freelance projects, he also worked as a staff engineer at Toronto’s Revolution Recording.

More recently, James has worked as a music editor, sound mixer, video editor and composers assistant in several film, television and web productions. Working in this area has allowed him to expand his skill set while picking up the tools and techniques of post-production.

As a live sound mixer and theatre technician, James has worked in numerous venues ranging from small clubs to large theatres. He has worked on many productions as front of house engineer, monitor engineer, lighting operator, sound operator, projection tech, programmer, and production designer.

James also offers consultation services for audio-visual systems design. He has consulted on, and contributed to the design of many systems installed in recording studios, houses of worship, theatres and other live venues.

James holds a BFA in Electroacoustic Studies from Concordia University in Montreal, having graduated with Great Distinction. He holds a full-time position at an independent school as a Theatre Technician where he serves as a staff advisor to students learning about production technology. He has been a member of the Audio Engineering Society, ACTRA, SOCAN, and is a featured artist with Radial Engineering.
